Sustainable Design

Since our firm’s inception, we have incorporated sustainable design principles into every project we have completed. These include our commitment to the reuse of existing buildings, the importance of day lighting and ventilation in creating livable spaces, optimizing the location and orientation of the building on the site, efficient use of energy in lighting and HVAC systems, and the use of materials which are non-toxic to both people and the environment. We believe these are simply good design practices and basic tenants of being responsible architects.

Our sustainable design strategy is to evaluate each design decision to not only uphold high standards of environmental stewardship, but also to ensure that our decisions further the client’s specific goals and guiding principles. In addition, our principal architect has been a LEED accredited professional since 2004 and is prepared to direct the design team toward LEED certification when required.
